Violinist Linda Wang to close concert series
The Seaford Community Concert Association presents Linda Wang, an American violinist, to close its 2000-01 concert series, on Saturday, April 7, at 8 p.m. in Seaford High School auditorium.
Praised by critics "among the premier young violinists of the world" and for her "masterful technique" and "singing jubilant tone" - Ms. Wang has won recognition from the music world as first and grand-prize winner of the International Markneukirchen Instrumental Competition in Germany, the NFMC Young Artists Auditions, and the International Kingsville Competition in Texas.
Among other honors, she won awards at the International Geneva Music Competition, and the Waldo Mayor Award Honoring New York's best young performer. Since her debut with the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta at the age of nine, Ms. Wang has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras in the U.S. and Europe.
As soloist and recitalist, she has graced famous concert halls here and all over the world, and her live performances have been televised nationally for PBS, Arts & Entertainment, ZDF in Germany and NHK in Japan. Her concerts have been broadcast for radio on NPR's "Performance Today" and many other worldwide radio to great acclaim.

Spaghetti Dinner & Auction
The Seaford Band Association will host an all-you-can-eat Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction to benefit the Seaford High School Band. It will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church, Third and Pine streets, Seaford on Saturday, March 31, from 4-7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the High School Jazz Band and Chorus. Tickets will be available at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased from any band parent. Adults are $6, children 4-12 are $3, and children under three are free.
Mt. Olivet Preschool
Registration for the 2001-2002 school year at Mt. Olivet Preschool begins Monday, April 2. Students who will be 2, 3, or 4 years of age by Aug. 31, 2000 are eligible. Class sizes are limited to 12 students for the 4-year-old class, 10 students in the 3-year-old class, and 6 students per class for the 2-year-old classes. Seaford District Library will present: Beowulft, Wonderbunny's travelling show of mystery, on Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at the library at 402 Porter Street, Seaford. Celebrate National Library Week.

SDPR Easter Egg hunt April 7
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation will hold their 16th annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 7, at 9 a.m. at the Ross Mansion in Seaford, for ages tot to nine years old. The Easter Bunny will be there to start the events. Be sure to bring a basket to collect your eggs in. The rain date is Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m.

The Seaford Lions Club will hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo on Saturday, April 7, starting at 7 p.m. at the VFW, located on Middleford Road in Seaford. The evening will consists of 20 exciting games and will feature several basket combinations including the 2001 Large Easter Combos (whitewashed and stained), 2001 Small Easter Combos (whitewashed and stained) and several regular line baskets as prizes. Advance tickets are $20 per person, $25 at the door, which includes a chance to win the Hostess Large Hamper and Hostess File basket. Nearly 30 chances to win! Refreshments will be provided. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary Bingo April 16
The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring a Country Peddler Bingo Monday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at the Seaford Fire Hall. This will be a fundraiser for the S.V.F.D.L.A. Galestown Ruritan Club presents their All-U-Care to Eat Breakfast Buffet. It is held the 4th Sunday Monthly from 7-10 a.m., at the Galestown Community House. This month will be April 22. Cost is $5 per person; carry-outs available.
