Restaurant boosts Jay’s Nest
On Saturday, March 30, R.J. Riverside Restaurant in Laurel will have an optional $5 cover charge and part of the proceeds will be donated to The Jay’s nest Playground in Seaford. The Jay’s Nest will be a community-built playground in the City of Seaford’s New Sports Complex located just off of Virginia Avenue. In addition to R.J. Riverside Restaurant’s generous donation, more money is needed to make the project a success and more than 2,000 volunteers are needed as well. For more information about Jay’s Nest Night at R.J. Seaford Elks Egg hunt
The Seaford Elks Lodge 2458 will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. All are encouraged to bring their children and/or grandchildren out for this event. Also, don’t forget your friends’ and neighbors’ children. The ages are 0-12 years. There will be four age groups and prizes for each age group. Also, we will be serving hot dogs, beans, chips, and soda in the Lodge after the Easter Egg Hunt. For more information contact the Seaford Elks Lodge on Elks Road in Seaford at (302) 629-2458.

Library has tax forms
Tax forms for Federal and State are available in the foyer of the library. AARP tax aide will offer free tax counseling and preparation for seniors and low income on Mondays until April 8, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 629-2524.
Book presentation, signing
The Delaware Heritage Commission and the Seaford District Library will have a presentation and book signing by Richard B. Carter., on April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. “Clearing new ground: the life of John G. Townsend” is a book about a former Delaware Governor. Stop by and listen to this fascinating story of the Governor from Selbyville.

Dessert Card Party April 9
Members of the Women of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Seaford, are completing plans for the annual dessert/card party to be held Tuesday, April 9, in the Parish House from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sarah Quick, ECW president, and Key Truitt, vice president, encourage area residents to come out and enjoy this special evening. Betty Myers and Mildred Wells serve as co-chairmen, Aileen Watkins is publicity chair and Virginia “Mike” Barton is dessert chairman. Fresh baked desserts prepared by the Women of St. Luke’s will be available and is included in the $5 ticket price. Table prizes will be awarded, with all profits to be used for the continuing Outreach programs sponsored by the ECW.

Kiwanis Club offering scholarships deadline April 5
The Kiwanis Club of Seaford will be offering two scholarships to graduating high school seniors residing in the Seaford School district. Scholarship applications are available from the Seaford Senior High School Guidance Department or by contacting Fred Glime at 302-629-3652 or Ron Breeding at 302-629-9173. Application deadline is April 5.
