Seaford Community Concert features London Piano Duo
The final concert of the Seaford Community Concert Association will take place on Tuesday, April 2, at 8 p.m. in the Seaford High School Auditorium. The featured performers will be The London Piano Duo. David Nettle and Richard Markham have combined their talents for many years. They will soon be celebrating their Silver Anniversary Season. The London Piano Duo has toured worldwide. They are regular participants in international music festivals throughout Europe. Their history has been chronicled in three television documentaries about their work. The range of selections varies from classical to operetta to Broadway musical. They have completed many of the arrangements themselves. The concert will provide a great opportunity to close out this year’s concert season on a high note as we prepare for another exciting season next year.

God Bless the USA event
The Knights of Columbus, St. Molua Council, is sponsoring a “God Bless the USA” dinner/dance on April 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hall in Seaford. Come and enjoy a patriotic night out of good food and DJ music from the 1950s to now. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15 per person. Call 629-3395 or 629-7999 for tickets. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Cutoff date is April 7.

Free tax assistance now through April 11
AARP-Tax Aide is offering free tax counseling and preparation from Feb. 4 through April 11 for senior and low-income taxpayers. AARP-Tax Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will assist with personal tax returns at the following locations:

Sussex Airport meeting
The next meeting of the Sussex County Airport Committee will be Wednesday, April 3, at the Sussex County Administrative Offices Building. Call 855-7770.

Benefit Dance April 6
A benefit dance for Binky Johnson will be April 6, from 7-11 p.m., at the Laurel Legion Post. The band “Savannah” will be playing and we will be having auctions, food, door prizes, etc. Call 875-5961 for tickets. Cost is $15 per couple; $8 single. Johnson was seriously injured in November and unable to work for one year.

EAC holding Basket Bingo
The Employee Activity Committee of Nanticoke Health Services will hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo on Thursday, April 11, starting at 7 p.m. at the V.F.W., on Middleford Road in Seaford. The evening will consist of 20 exciting games and will feature several basket combinations including the 2002 All American combo, the 2002 Mother’s Day combo, and several regular line baskets as prizes. Advance tickets are $20 per person, $25 at the door. Advance ticket includes a chance to win the Hostess Large Hamper or one of the nine door prizes. Nearly 30 chances to WIN! TRIAD highway safety
The Western Sussex County TRIAD will hold its next meeting on Thursday, April 11, at 10 a.m., at the Nanticoke Senior Center located at 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford. The topic will be Highway Safety presented by the Seaford Police Department and the Delaware State Police. All members of the community are invited to attend. The TRIAD meetings are normally scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Nanticoke Senior Center.

Legion benefit dinner
American Legion Post 218, Sharptown, Md., on Saturday, April 6, from 4 p.m. till ?, will hold a Pit Beef Benefit Dinner for Shelly Eisenhower-Carr. Music at 8 p.m. TV to be given away. Twenty chances for $20. Price for dinner will be donations. Please be generous and help us to help her.
