‘Walk of Success’
The nomination period for the Alumni Walk of Success at Delaware Tech, Owens Campus, Georgetown, is under way. Nominations will be accepted until April 15. Nominees must be graduates of an associate degree or diploma program at Delaware Technical & Community College or the Delaware Tech/University of Delaware Parallel Program at the Owens Campus. Delaware Equine Council
This is a meeting regarding Trails. The monthly meeting of the Delaware Equine Council will be April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Messick Community Center in Harrington. Trails will be discussed with heads of State Dept., Forestry, DNR, Wildlife, Parks. This is your opportunity to share your thoughts and problems with those that will make a difference. Golden Corral benefit
A benefit for the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club will take place each Monday night from 6-8:30 p.m. during April at the Golden Corral Restaurant on US 13, Seaford. On Monday nights, service club volunteers, Boys & Girls Club board members and staff will wait on customers. All tips and 10 percent of the proceeds during the time period will be donated to the club. (It is also Kids’ Night at the restaurant.) The Golden Corral has had this benefit for the Boys & Girls Club two times a year since the club opened nearly seven years ago.

Spring Festival
Seaford Christian Academy will hold its Spring Festival on Saturday, April 5, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. It will include a yard sale, food, games and more. A vehicle will be auctioned at noon.

Dover Stamp Club
The Dover Stamp Club will hold its 52nd Show on March 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the W. Reily Brown School in Dover. Includes a children’s table, 12 dealers, exhibits, etc. Free Admission.

Choral Society rehearses
The Southern Delaware Choral Society has resumed its rehearsal schedule. The 75-voice choir is preparing for a performance of the Mozart “Requiem” May 17, 18 at Delaware Tech in Georgetown. New singers welcome. Call 227-2227.

Longwood Gardens trip
The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation is planning a trip to Longwood Gardens Acres of Spring, on Saturday, May 10. Cost is: $28 for adults: $20 for young adults, 16-20; $16 for children 6-15; $14 for children 5 and under. Prices include bus fare on a motor coach and admission to the gardens. Bus leaves Seaford at 7 a.m., and leaves Longwood Gardens at 5 p.m. to return to Seaford. Registration deadline is April 23 by 5 p.m. Call Parks and Recreation to register or for more information, 629-6809.

Photographers convention
Delaware Professional Photographers, (an affiliate of Professional Photographers of America) have rescheduled their annual convention due to the snow, for March 30-31, at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. Dennis Kelly, sponsored by FujiFilm, will start the convention off on Sunday with the subject, “Workflow: The Key to Digital Success.”
Airport meeting
The next regular meeting of the Sussex County Airport Committee will be Wednesday, April 2, at the Sussex County Administrative Offices building (West Complex, Rt. 113), Georgetown at 10 a.m. Call 855-7770.

Art Auction
The Boys and Girls Club of Oak Orchard/Riverdale and the Greater Millsboro Kiwanis Club will host an Art Show and Auction fundraiser to benefit children and youth in the Greater Millsboro area. The auction will be held Friday, April 4, at the American Legion Hall on Route 24 in Oak Orchard, about seven miles east of Millsboro. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. A preview of the art begins at 7 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and cash bar, and the fast-paced auction begins at 8 p.m. Door prizes will also be awarded. ‘Studentreasures’ April 9
“Studentreasures” Celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2 p.m., at Blades Elementary School cafeteria, 900 S. Arch St., Blades. Please join us for a celebration honoring the student authors at Blades Elementary School. Thanks to a grant from MBNA, and the help of our PTO, each class was able to write and publish their own “Studentreasures” book. Presentation will begin in the cafeteria. Spring Concert May 17
The Southern Delaware Choral Society’s annual Spring Concert, “Spiritually Yours,” W.A. Mozart, which includes Requiem (K626) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Toccata in F. Major by J. S. Bach, and a selection of African American spirituals, will be Saturday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 at 4 p.m. at Delaware Tech, Georgetown. Tickets are $12 adults, $10 students. Free Tax Assistance
AARP-Tax Aide is offering free tax counseling and preparation through April 11 for senior and low income taxpayers. AARP-Tax Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will assist with personal tax returns at the following sites:
