Scouts to serve spaghetti
Boy Scout Troop 90 of Laurel will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday, April 7, at Centenary United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Laurel. Carry-outs will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $5. Delivery to local businesses may be arranged by calling 846-2478 in advance. Dinner will be served from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at a cost of $5 for adults and carry-outs. Admission for children under 12 is $3, free for children under 6.

Dessert theater April 7
The Laurel Lioness Club will present its annual dessert theater Saturday, April 7, at the Laurel High School Gym. Dessert will be served at 7:30; show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8. The show will featuring Christina Harrison, Celtic singer and songwriter, with Bill Belcher on guitar. For tickets and table reservations call Ruth Feeney at 875-5354.

Laurel variety show tonight
The Laurel Lions Club variety show will be March 22, 23 and 24, 7 p.m. in the Laurel High School gymnasium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased at Laurel Petroleum, The Insurance Market or at O'Neal's Jewelers. For details, call Bob Lewis, 875 4741.

Roads closed through March
The state Department of Transportation has approved road closures at two locations near Laurel so that the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control can install underground pipes. The roads will be closed through March 30. Delaware 24 between Sussex 463 and Sussex 449A is closed and a detour route has been established. Going east, take Sussex 74 to Sussex 447 to Sussex 62 back to Delaware 24. Going west, take Sussex 62 to Sussex 447 to Sussex 74 back to 24. Delaware 24 between Sussex 422A and Sussex 450 is also closed. Going east, take Sussex 422A to Sussex 450 back to 24. Going west, take Sussex 449A to Sussex 447 to Sussex 74 back to 24.
