Ninety & Nine to meet

Lent services planned
The Seaford Ministerium is planning Lent services at the following churches: March 21 - Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Harrison of Our Lady of Lourdes March 28 - St. Luke's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Gayle Conrow of Gethsemane U.M.C. April 4 - Grace Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeanne Kirby of St. Luke's Episcopal. All services will start at noon.

Youth choir to perform
The Circuit Riders youth choir from Wilmington, N.C. , will perform Friday, March 16, 7 p.m., at Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel.

Missionaries to discuss work
The Atlanta Road Alliance Church, Seaford, will host a missions conference March 17 - 22. Missionaries Dave and Jan Arnold from the Ivory Coast and Tim Iverson from Taiwan will speak. Services will be provided for all age groups. For details, call the church at 629-7693.

Bethel to serve lunch
Bethel Community House, Oak Grove Road, Seaford, will host a soup and sandwich lunch Saturday, March 17, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details call 629-7177.

Wesley plans craft fair
Wesley United Methodist Church, Atlanta Road, Seaford, will hold a craft fair Saturday, March 17, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Crafts from Red Bird Mission, located in the southeastern Kentucky mountains, will be sold.

Women's retreat planned
Living Water Church, US 9, Laurel, is sponsoring a spring women's retreat Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (The retreat was originally scheduled for March 31). Karren Hamm, senior pastor at Palmstown Church, Carlisle, Pa., will speak. Hamm is on the executive committee for WILLOW, the women's ministry of Elim Fellowship. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration is $10 and can be paid at the door. For reservations, call Melody Collins, 934-9761, by March 17.

Christ UMC to host speaker
The Rev. John A. Irwin of Laurel will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, March 21, Lenten service at Christ United Methodist Church, Laurel. His message for the 7:30 p.m. service is entitled "Getting It All Wrong." The church is located at 510 South Central Ave., Laurel. Irwin is secretary of missions in Dover, Easton and Wilmington districts. He served for more than 10 years as pastor of Centenary UMC, Laurel.

Friday Night Opry planned
Trinity United Methodist Church, Laurel, will host its Friday Night Opry March 16 at 7 p.m. Sounds of Grace will be in concert. On Friday, March 23, Back Porch Light & Friends will lead a gospel hootenanny. The church is located near Trap Pond. For details, call Sandy LeCates at 856-1506 or e-mail

Annual trustees day set
The trustee board of Mt. Calvary AME Church in Concord will hold an annual celebration Sunday, March 18, at 3:30 p.m. Guests will be the Rev. Larry Bell, choir and congregation from Maranatha Holistic Gospel Fellowship Church in Greenwood.

College Choir to be in area
The concert choir of Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky., will present a concert of sacred music Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at Calvary Wesleyan Church, Harrington. The repertoire includes sacred literature representative of the classical tradition, hymn arrangements and spirituals. The church is located at 240 Delaware Ave., Harrington. Organ workshop planned
On Saturday, March 24, Dan Miller, will conduct a free organ workshop at Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, 9 a.m. to noon. A continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. At 7 p.m., Miller will play a dedication concert for the new organ. Miller has been a featured solo organist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, the Florida Philharmonic, the King's Brass and other ensembles. He is product manager at Rodgers Instruments. Hymn sing March 25
