Library plans programs
The Laurel Public Library will host a naturalist from Trap Pond State Park Wednesday, March 14, 4:30 p.m. The hour-long program is free and open to children ages 6 and up. To pre-register, call the library at 875-3184. The library will celebrate St. Patrick's Day Saturday, March 17, with a story, a craft, a magic trick and refreshments. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at noon. Children ages 6-12 may register by calling 875-3184. The library has the following new books: Juvenile - "Be a better hitter: baseball basics," by Buz Baundage; "Kirigami, The art of 3-dimensional paper cutting," by Laura Badalucco; "The night you were born," by Wendy McCormick; "Girls think of everything: stories of ingenious inventions," Catherine Thimmeah; "A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do: dogs at work," by Marilyn Singer. Adults - "Paradise county," by Karen Robards; "North by Cheyenne," by John Nesbitt; "Silent warrior; the marine sniper's Vietnam story continues," by Charles Henderson; "Homeschooling: the teen years," by Cafi Cohen; "220 best franchises to buy," by Philip Lief Group and Lynie Arden.

All about St. Patrick's Day
The Laurel Public Library will host St. Patrick's Day activities Saturday, March 17, including a story, a craft, a magic trick and refreshments. Children age 6 to 12 may register by calling the library, 875-3184.

LVFD to serve spaghetti
The Laurel Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner Saturday, March 10, 4 to 7 p.m., at the fire department. Tickets are $5. For ticket information call 875-3081.
