Rock can be educational
The Delmar Public Library will present a public concert, Education Rock, Positive-ly Fun, by Jim Hossick on Thursday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. Hossick is a singer, songwriter and producer of original music for kids. Year 2001 marks his 10th year performing in concert for children and families. The library is located at 101 North Bi-State Boulevard. For more information call (302) 846-9894.

Library plans ice cream social
An ice cream social will be Saturday, March 31, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Delmar Public Library, 101 North Bi-State Boulevard, Delmar, to celebrate the centennial of the Delaware Division of Libraries. Entertainment will be by a barbershop quartet, The Dockers, and a hooked rug will be raffled off.

Library has new hours
The Delmar Public Library has new expanded hours. The hours are now Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from noon until 8 p.m., and Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. On Friday the library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Saturday's hours still 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Storytime is Wednesday mornings at 10 for pre-school ages and Thursday nights at 6:30 for all ages. New adult books at the library are: "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius," by Dave Eggers; "Plain Jane," by Fern Michaels; "Homeschooling: The Teen Years," by Cafi Cohen; "Joe Dimaggio, The Hero's Life," by Richard Ben Cramer; and "Stories of young pioneers in their own words," by Violet Kimball. New audiobooks are: "Beyond the Gathering Storm," By Janette Oke; "Now I lay me down to sleep," by Patricia H. Rushford; "Just like Jesus," by Max Lucado; "Angels," by Billy Graham; and "Every Little Thing About You," by Lori Wick.
