Tickets on sale for bingo
Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Group will sponsor Longaberger basket bingo Saturday, March 24, 6 p.m. at the church parish hall. All proceeds will help the youth group to travel to the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indiana. Tickets in advance cost $20, or $25 at the door. TRIAD meeting is March 8
The Western Sussex County TRIAD will meet Thursday, March 8, 10 a.m. at the Nanticoke Senior Center, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford. The TRIAD organization is comprised of citizens and law enforcement working together to ensure the safety of senior citizens. The topic for the next TRIAD meeting will be traffic problems and enforcement. Meetings are normally scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Nanticoke Senior Center.

Church to host penny party
A penny party will be held Saturday, March 10, 7 p.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served. Admission will be $2. For details, call 629-5404 or 629-8775. Sponsor is the Woodland Youth Group.

Free tax assistance offered
AARP-Tax Aide is offering free tax counseling and preparation through April 11 for middle and low income taxpayers, with special emphasis on those 60 and over. AARP-Tax Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will assist with personal tax returns at the following locations:

Trap Pond Partners to meet
Trap Pond Partners, a non-profit group dedicated to the improvement of Trap Pond State Park, will meet Wednesday, March 14, 7 p.m. at Trap Pond Nature Center. Anyone in Sussex County who is interested in the future of Trap Pond State Park is invited to attend. For details, call 875-5153.

AAUW to mark 60 years
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Seaford branch Saturday, March 24, 1 p.m. at the Seaford Golf and Country Club. Following the luncheon, local historian Wright Robinson will talk about life in 1940 when the branch was founded. Ed Okoniwicz, story teller from the University of Delaware, will speak on the history, romance and mystery of our area. Recognition will be given to past presidents, scholarship winners and other recipients of the branch's funded programs. Branch history, exhibits and awards will be presented.
