Alumni Cow Drop Upcoming
The Laurel Alumni Association Cow Drop will be April 18. Tickets are for sale at O’Neal Bros., MCM Jewelers, and the Insurance Market for $10 per square. This is a major fund raiser for scholarships.

Mardi Gras for Hope House
The theme is “Mardi Gras” at the Laurel Fire Hall, 8 p.m.-midnight, on Saturday, March 6. Price is $30 per person. Music by “The Honeycombs. Finger food buffet, complimentary sodas, entertainment, silent auction, and much more. A cash bar. Singles are welcome; costumes are optional. Tickets will be available locally at Bev’s Spec’s, County Bank or Ambassador Travel. All proceeds will be used to support Hope House in Laurel.

Laurel Little League Dance
Laurel Little League dance will be Saturday, March 20, at Laurel American Legion, 8 p.m.-midnight, with DJ and cash bar. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., $30 a couple, $25 per individual. Price of ticket includes a motorcycle raffle ticket (drawing on Nov. 6). Call 875-7903 for tickets or information.

Laurel Lioness Basket Bingo
Laurel Lioness Club will hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo, Tuesday, March 23, at the Laurel Fire Hall, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available from any Lioness member, at His & Hers Hair Stylists located in Calio Plaza, or by calling 875-2569. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Grand prize feature with ticket purchase is the “corner hamper.” Refreshments will be provided. Door prizes, raffles.

Dr. Suess Day
Annual Dr. Seuss Day at the Laurel Public Library on Friday, March 5, at 10 a.m. or 4 p.m. Ladies from the New Century Club will read favorite Dr. Seuss stories and special Dr. Seuss refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 875-3184.

Donkey Basketball
Donkey Basketball is coming back to Laurel. The show will start at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, at the high school gym. Advanced tickets are $5 and tickets at the door are $7. Children under 6 are free. Contact Michael Cerchio at 875-6120 ext. 238, or you can purchase them at the NAPA store. Sponsored by The class of 2005.
Quilt Show and Luncheon
Quilt show and luncheon, Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Laurel, admission is $10. Food includes: homemade chicken salad, muffins, and desserts. Bed quilts, antique quilts and wall hangings will be on display, 875-2729.

Trap Pond Events
For all programs call 875-5163 to register or for more information. Spring into Origami - Saturday, March 6,10 a.m. Learn about the animals just waking up for spring while creating origami animals including frogs, eagles, foxes, and more! Cypress Point discovery hike - Saturday, March 6, noon. Meet at the campground store to begin this guided hike, we’ll search for creatures and birds. A limited number of binoculars are available. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles long. Animal tracking for beginners - Saturday, March 13, 1 a.m. Join a naturalist on a short hike and learn how to look for the tracks and signs of animals. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet or muddy. Botanical Journey: Pond Plants by Canoe - Saturday, March 13, 10 a.m. Basic paddling instruction will be given at the beginning of each program, so beginners are welcome. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Cost is $8 per person, children 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-register for a trip by calling the nature center 875-5163. All trips meet at the boathouse. Advanced animal tracking - Saturday March 20, 1 a.m. This class is designed for those who are looking for a more advanced form of animal tracking. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet or muddy.
