Delmar VFW Dinner
A beef and dumpling dinner, Sunday, March 7, at Delmar VFW, 200 W. State Street, Delmar, Md., from 1-4 p.m. Tickets are $7.50 adults, children under 12, $4 per ticket. Wood turning demonstration in Delmar
A wood turning demonstration by Al Hockenbery, a master wood-turner and teacher, will be held at the VFW hall in Delmar, Md., at 7p.m. on Thursday, March 18. He will be demonstrating and discussing tools and wood used in spindle turning and face plate turning. He will also be turning green wood. This working demonstration is being brought to you by the Mason-Dixon Woodworkers Club in Delmar. There is no charge for this demonstration. Call 410-546-2390 for additional information.
Bi-Staters Coffee Talk
Reminder that the indoor yard sale with new and used items will be held at the Melson United Methodist Church, Delmar, Md., Saturday, March 6, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Light breakfast and lunch with sandwiches will be sold. St. Paulís Christian ladies held their meeting the month of February at Strikemasters, Seaford. After the meeting and lunch, we enjoyed our hand at bowling and the great fellowship. Eighth-grade English students for the month of February are, Jordan Outten, Victoria Jones, Bill Timmons, Shauna Lynch, Marshall Vernon and Andrew Spindler.
Spanish students of the month for February were Jaínae White, Melanie Sonnier, Jason Lynch, Jovana Rondon and Candace Esham.
Seventeen teachers, nurses, secretaries and administrators completed the Technology Tools in Education program presented by Daria Hoffman. Participants were most appreciative for the opportunity to have the class held in Delmar.
A number of Delmar teachers were selected for state test benchmarking sessions, including Joanne Czernik, Gerry Mitchell, Shauneen Giuidice, Juley Harper and Miriam Jones.
