Dr. Seuss celebration set
The Laurel Public Library is planning its third annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration. Members of the New Century Club will read favorite books from Dr. Seuss on Friday, March 2, at the library. Show times will be at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For details, call 875-3184.

Readathon for MS going on
Kits for a readathon to benefit the Delaware Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society are available at the Laurel Public Library. Participants will have until March 19 to get pledges and read books. For more information, call the Laurel Public Library at 875-3184.

Library plans programs
The Laurel Public Library will host a naturalist from Trap Pond State Park Wednesday, March 14, 4:30 p.m. The hour-long program is free and open to children ages 6 and up. To pre-register, call the library at 875-3184. The library will celebrate St. Patrick's Day Saturday, March 17, with a story, a craft, a magic trick and refreshments. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at noon. Children ages 6-12 may register by calling 875-3184. The library has the following new books: Juvenile - "Be a better hitter: baseball basics," by Buz Baundage; "Kirigami, The art of 3-dimensional paper cutting," by Laura Badalucco; "The night you were born," by Wendy McCormick; "Girls think of everything: stories of ingenious inventions," Catherine Thimmeah; "A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do: dogs at work," by Marilyn Singer.
