Dinner to feature oysters
C.H. Foggie A.M.E. Zion Church, Bridgeville, will host a oyster, chicken and dumpling dinner Friday, March 2, noon until 7 p.m. For details, call 337-0546.

Rock band to play
Cafe 404 at the Bridgeville Church of God, 1 mile west of Bridgeville on US 404, will be open Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m. "Forever Moon," a Christian rock band from Baltimore, will perform.

Hymn sing set for March 4
A hymn sing will be held at Zion United Methodist Church, Delaware 16 and Zion Church Road, Milton, Sunday, March 4, 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. For details, call 645-9148.

Annual Friends' Day planned
Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, Townsend Street, Laurel, will hold its annual Hunt & Higgins Family and Friends Day Sunday, March 4, 3:30 p.m. Sponsors are Gerry Hunt Horsey, Hester Hunt Waters and Berdie Hunt Beckett. For details, call 875-7480.

Mt. Olivet to add service
Beginning Sunday, March 4, Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 315 High St., Seaford, will resume the 8:15 a.m. informal traditional service in the chapel and will add a contemporary service in the fellowship hall. This new service will be held from 9:15-10 a.m. and will feature contemporary music, drama and guest speakers. It will also offer communion on the first Sunday of every month as in all Mt. Olivet services. Mt. Olivet offers Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. for all ages. The traditional worship service begins at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and features the Mt. Olivet Chancel Choir under the direction of Jim Bongard and Susan Elliott on the organ. Mt. Olivet's pastor is Dr. Bruce Cooke. The pastoral assistant is Peggy Fisher. For details, call 629-4458.

Prayer breakfast set
C.H. Foggie A.M.E. Zion Church, Bridgeville, will host a prayer breakfast Saturday, March 10, 9 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person. Dedra Martin, minister at New Life A.M.E. Zion Church, Cambridge, Md., will speak. For details call 875-1290.

Ninety & Nine to meet

Trinity planning classes
Trinity Church of Dublin Hill is sponsoring a seven-session series of meetings for families with children between the ages of 10 and 14. The classes will start Saturday, March 10, with light breakfast at 9:30 a.m. The parents will learn about the importance of love and limits with "how to" ideas, while the youth will learn decision making and about being a part of the family. These sessions will be free, with baby-sitting provided, and will be held at the church on Dublin Hill Road, about 2 miles west of US 404. To register, call 628-9902.

St. George's to hold lunch
A luncheon will be held at St. George's Church, between Delmar and Laurel, Saturday, March 10, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plants will also be available for sale.

New Nazarene service set
On March 11, the Laurel Church of the Nazarene will begin a new service at 9:30 a.m. This service will include contemporary Christian music. Sunday School will be provided for all ages. The church will continue its 11 a.m. service and will have teen and adult Sunday school sessions running concurrently. KIDZONE, an 11 a.m. ministry for children that will include music, puppetry and story time, will also start March 11.

Local radio station honored
Local radio station WOLC has been named the Radio Station of the Year by the National Religious Broadcasters. The award was presented at the 58th annual convention of NRB, held in Dallas, Texas, by the president of National Religious Broadcasters, Dr. E. Brandt Gustavson, and the chairman of NRB, Wayne Pederson. On hand to receive the award were general manager Jim East and president of the board of Maranatha Inc., the parent organization for WOLC, Ralph Scott Jr. Announcing the award was pianist and television personality, John Tesh. WOLC serves the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.

Annual Men's Day planned
The men of Mt. Calvary AME Church, Concord, will hold Men's Day Sunday, March 11. The Rev. Luther Walker III, Trinity AME Church, Middletown, will speak at the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Charles Dennis Jr. from Refreshing Fountain COGIC, will speak at the 4 p.m. service. Dinner will be service following the morning service.
