St. Luke’s Lenten Services
Holy Eucharist with Special Intention for Healing at 7 p.m., followed by Stations of the Cross is being offered on Wednesday evenings during lent at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Seaford. On Sunday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the parish hall, there will be a Bible study led by Vicki Reinsfelder. This will be a study and discussion regarding the lessons and Gospel reading for the coming Sunday.
World Day of Prayer
The annual World Day of Prayer will be Friday, March 4, at 10 a.m., at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on High Street in Seaford. This year’s program “Let Our Light Shine” was written by Christian women in Poland to promote peace and justice throughout the world. Child care is provided and a light lunch will follow.
World Day of Prayer (WDP) is an international event that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women and men in more than 170 countries in prayer. Throughout the day, from the first sunrise to the last sunset, prayers follow the sun’s path around the globe. Spoken in hundreds of languages and dialects, WDP strives to bring “informed prayer and prayerful action” to communities. Seaford Ministerium Services
The Seaford Ministerium announces the following Lenten services to be held on Wednesdays at noon to be followed by a light lunch. Persons of all religious affiliations are invited to attend.
March 2: Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Preacher: the Rev. Sharon Graves of Evergreen United Methodist Church;
March 9: Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Preacher: Paul Alexander of the Seaford Mission;
March 16: St. John’s United Methodist Church, Preacher: Charles Whaley of the Seaford Mission.
A Good Friday service will be March 25, at 7 p.m., at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on the last seven sayings of Christ. Preaching will be pastors from Concord United Methodist Church, Seaford Church of the Nazarene, the Atlanta Road Alliance Missionary Church, Seaford Presbyterian Church, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

Mt. Pisgah celebrates families
Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church, Townsend Street, Laurel, will be celebrating Hunt and Higgins Family Day, on Sunday, March 6. Morning worship service begins at 11 a.m. and the afternoon worship experience will begin at 3:30 p.m. Sponsored by Evangelist Gerry Hunt Horsey and Sister Hester Hunt Waters.
Laurel Wesleyan Musical
Laurel Wesleyan Church will be presenting the Easter Musical “Friend of a Wounded Heart” on Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 27, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. This musical features choir, instrumental, and solo music along with multimedia, dance, and drama about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Centenary Lenten study
Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will be hosting a Lenten Bible Study called, “What Do United Methodists Believe.” This study begins on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. and will end on Palm Sunday, March 20. All are welcome to this one-hour seminar.
Tsunami Area Missionaries
Seaford Church of the Nazarene at 520 South Dual Highway, on Thursday, Feb 24, at 7 p.m. is hosting Larry and Phyllis West, missionaries from the Tsunami afflicted country of Indonesia. They will be speaking about the mission work there and the impact of the horrific disaster that occurred there as well as in other southeast Asian nations. Greater Faith Quartet
Greater Faith Quartet from Knoxville, Tenn., will be at the Seaford Church of the Nazarene, 520 South Dual Highway, Seaford (on U.S. 13 South next to The Guide) on Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the concert.
