Kiwanis to host basket bingo
The Kiwanis Club of Seaford will have a basket bingo, featuring Longaberger baskets, Saturday, March 4, at the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the games begin at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20 before the night of the event, which includes 20 games and a chance on the raffles and door prizes. The admission will be $25 the night of the event with an additional charge for raffle tickets. Phone 629-3466 for details.

Club offers indoor shooting
Every Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., the Nanticoke Sportsman's Club offers indoor pistol shooting at the club's complex outside of Seaford. The public is welcome and instruction is available. Call 629-4125 for details and directions.

CHEER to host social
The CHEER Community Center will host a wine and cheese social the last Thursday of each month, 3 to 5 p.m., beginning Feb. 24 in the lobby of the new facility at the intersection of US 9 and Sand Hill Road in Georgetown. For more information, call 854-9500.

Hunter education course set
Delaware hunter education courses will be offered Saturday, Feb. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the University of Delaware's Ag Center in Georgetown, and Sunday, Feb. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Ellendale. Pre-registration is required for the Georgetown course. To pre-register, call (302) 323-5336.
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1967, is required to complete hunter education before buying a Delaware hunting license.

Free tax help available
Free tax counseling and preparation for all taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those age 60 and older, is available from AARP Tax-Aide through April 11.
Volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will help with personal income tax returns at the Nanticoke Senior Center 113 S. Arch St., Seaford, 629-4939 and Methodist Manor House, Middleford Road, Seaford, 629-4593. Service also is available for homebound individuals. Preschool sign-ups going on
St. John's Preschool is accepting applications for the 2000-2001 school year. Children turning 3 by Aug. 31 who are toilet-trained may attend the 3- and 4-year-old class. Children turning 3 by Dec. 31 will be considered on an individual basis. Children turning 4 by Aug. 31 may attend the 4- and 5-year-old class.
St John's Preschool is located on Pine and Poplar streets, in Seaford. The school is open to any child no matter what race, creed, nationality, sex or religion.
The school is having a spaghetti dinner on Friday, March 3, to raise money for new playground equipment. Cost for the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children 11 and under. Children 2 and under are admitted free. For details, call Debby Shockley at 629-2289.

Ham and turkey shoot set
The Ellendale Ruritans will hold a ham and turkey shoot Saturday, Feb. 26, noon, at the Ellendale VFW. To reach the hall, take the first right going south on US 113 after the Ellendale Light.

Democrats to meet Feb. 28
The Western Sussex Democrat Club will meet Monday, Feb. 28, 6:30 p.m., at St. Philips Episcopal Church, South Central Avenue, Laurel. Guest speaker will be Kevin Smith, representing the office of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Job fair to appeal to seniors
