Auxiliary celebrates 60 years

Through the years, some of the group's activities included:
* In December 1942, the auxiliary sent Christmas boxes to Delmar servicemen overseas .
* In April 1949 members began to march in parades with their new uniforms consisting of a white uniform, cape and cap.
* In the 1950s they offered chicken dinners and helped with a carnival to gain funds for the department.
* In May 1961, the auxiliary marched in the Delmarva Convention Parade held in Delmar in their "Sunday best" attire of red long johns.
* Dec. 16, 1972, marked the first family Christmas dinner."
