Focus on the Light Conference at Atlanta Road Alliance Church
Ladies of all ages and teen girls ages 13-17 are invited to the 2004 Focus on the Light Conference Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford. Emily Chase, wife, mother, author, former missionary and college teacher will be the keynote speaker. Having served as the coordinator of educational and counseling services at a Pennsylvania pregnancy center, she has also developed an abstinence education program, which is currently used by the Sussex Pregnancy Care Drama Team. During this conference she will direct attention to the issues of “forgiveness” and “moving beyond regrets.” This weekend includes seven informative workshops on subjects from home budgets, to the issues of singles, hospitality, discipleship, and ordering your home. A special session on Friday night, taught by Emily Chase, is designed uniquely for teen girls and the moms. Accomplished vocalist, Lori Miller, will be ministering in song. Two-day registration for adults is $18, one-day for adults is $10. Two-day registration for teen girls is $10, and one-day registration is $5. Doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday and the sessions are from 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday begins with a light breakfast at 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.-noon sessions. St. Luke’s Vestry retreat
The Vestry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold their retreat on Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14, beginning with Holy Eucharist at 6:30 p.m. in the church on Friday evening and continuing on Saturday gathering in the home of Dr. Roberta Burns. Sue Short succeeds Herb Quick as Sr. Warden and Bruce LeVan succeeds Tom Lee as Jr. Warden. The Vestry will be commissioned on Palm Sunday, April 4, at the 10 a.m. service (one service).

Christ Evangelistic Church
Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel is celebrating 30 years of serving the Lord this February. The following services will be held: On Sunday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m., a Concert with Jody McBrayer (lead singer of Avalon). On Sunday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Ruth Graham, Powerful Word of God, (daughter of the Rev. Billy Graham). On Sunday, Feb. 29, at 22 a.m. and 7 p.m., Christian singer: Susie Luchsinger (sister of Reba McEntire). A Love Offering will be taken.

Praise concert
Concord United Methodist Church will have a praise concert on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Guest singers will be “Reunion” (above) from Princess Anne, Md. The public is invited. Concord U.M.C. Centenary Church supper
A pancake supper will be held at Centenary Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-12. Sponsored by the Sunday School Department.

Youth Conference
St. John AME Zion Church, Ross Point in Laurel (Rev. Oris P. Fields, Sr., pastor) will host a youth Conference/revival on Feb. 26, 27 and 28, at the Citadel of Hope Church on Concord Road in Concord. Minister Demarrius Hardy from New Beginnings Covenant Ministry, Berlin, Md., will preach on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.; Apostle Ivory Jenkins with his congregation from Trenton, N.J., will preach on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.; and the Rev. Scott Moore, Judah Temple AME Zion Church and congregation from Mitchellville, Md., will preach on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. In addition, there will be “The Faithful Ones;” a creative dance team, The Steppers from Millsboro, and many other great singing groups and dance teams, at this Holy Ghost Revival.

Faith Conference
River of Life Christian Center invites you to “Faith Conference 2004” at 7 each night from March 10-12, at 7 each night, at 17 West Market St., Greenwood. Speakers: on March 10, Joseph J. Dixon, pastor of River of Life Christian Center, and March 11, 12, Terrell M. Rummage, pastor of Living Faith Christian Center, Gary, Ind., former director of the Bible Training Center of Living Word Christian Center, Forest Park, Ill., ordained minister and graduate of Rhema Bible College, Tulsa, Okla. Get ‘Rewired’ at Impact 2004
Thousands of high school students and youth group leaders are expected to attend the Impact 2004 Rewired Conference on March 26-28, at the Ocean City, Md., Convention Center. Impact 2004 will feature music by Tait and Lincoln Brewster, national youth speakers Jeff Dean and Reggie Dabbs, who with humor and compassion, teach that “You can’t change your past but you can change your future”; one-man theatre Curt Cloninger who leaves a lasting impression; adult training by “The Ragamuffin Gospel” author, Brennan Manning, and more. Latin Mass February 15
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on Feb. 15. ‘Snowflake Ball’ February 28
The Laurel Nazarene Church will have its first Snowflake Ball, a purity ball for fathers and daughters, in the banquet room at the RJ Riverside Restaurant in Laurel, on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 11 p.m. The evening will begin with worship through musical entertainment and creative movement. A catered buffet dinner will follow. Fathers and daughters will participate in a ceremony of commitment to purity. Ballroom dancing will crown the evening, as well as a time to publicly bless fathers and daughters. Space is limited. Seats will only be held with payment. The cost is $18 per person.
