AARP to meet Feb. 8
Seaford Chapter #1084 of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will meet at the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Thursday, Feb. 8, at 1:30 p.m. Gary Wray will speak on Delaware's involvement in World War II.

Storytellers coming to town
The national touring theatrical troupe "Activated Storytellers" will appear at the Seaford District Library, 402 N. Porter St., Saturday, Feb. 10, 3:30 p.m. Members will also perform at Centenary Methodist Church in Laurel on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 2:15 p.m., sponsored by the Laurel Library. The presentation will be "Around the World with Jack," a selection of multi-cultural folk tales about simpletons who attain wisdom and fortune. The 45-minute presentation is suitable for all ages. Admission is free, and open to the public.

Safe boating courses set
The Seaford Flotilla of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer the Delaware State Boating Course on Feb. 17 and 24, 8 a.m. to noon at the new Nanticoke River Yacht Club building on Market Street in Blades. Advanced registration is recommended but not required. Successful completion of a boating safety course is mandatory for all Delaware boaters and jet-ski operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1978.
