We send our get-well wishes to Woodard “Woody” Bartlett, Kevin Morris and Albert Parker, who are patients at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

We also send our get-well wishes for a speedy recovery to Corrine Lambden, who is a patient at the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.

Our sympathy to the family and friends of Virginia Henry. She is originally from Laurel and had moved to Wauchaula, Fla. Graveside services were held in Wauchaula on Jan. 21.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Delmar Fire Department will hold a beef and dumpling dinner Saturday, Feb. 8, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Delmar Fire Hall. Cost of the dinner plus as well as of will be $8 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be limited; call 846-9983 or 410-896-9041, extension 120 to reserve your ticket. Benefits will go to the ladies auxiliary.

Jebb Carrier was this year’s winner of the 2003 National Geography Bee in Delmar. Second place went to Kaitlyn Smith, and third place to Megan Reed. Other finalists were David Bradshaw, Caitlyn Cooper, Kevin Johnson, Jason Vander Hayden, Erin Thomas, Marshall Vernon, and Conrad Williams. Jebb Carrier will go on to compete at the state level.

Samantha Morris has collected over $7,000 for Special Olympics through the Lewis Polar Bear Plunge. Samantha will take the “plunge” on Feb. 2, at Rehoboth Beach.

Kaitlyn Smith received congratulations from the Department of Education for her placement in the Junior All-State Chorus. Kaitlyn was the only Delmar student who qualified for these honors.
Elizabeth Thiel was the first place winner in this year’s VFW Voice of Democracy contest.

Winners of the annual children’s Christmas book competition in art I are, first place - Randy Havatter and Rebecca Mir. Second place, Charisse Homes and Brittany Williams. Third place - Heather Malinger and Joleen Schilling.

The Delmar Gospel Choir was featured on WBOC’s “Travels With Charlie” several weekends ago.

Zack Bunner is the recipient of the Casey Lynch Leadership Award from Pop Warner, a national honor.

English students of the month at Delmar Junior Senior High School are, period one - Devon Scott. Period two - Dayona Thomas. Period three - Chris Sullivan. Period five - Stephanie Davis. Period six - Kaitlyn Hearn. Period seven - Brandon Ward. Danielle McIntyre was the overall December student of the month.

Spanish students of the month are: Alison Brumbley and Keith Rose, conversational Spanish, Ashley Mocella, Randie Hovatter, Spanish I, Tabatha Littleton, and Heather Booth, Spanish IV.

We want to wish Terry and Preston Frallic a happy anniversary on Feb. 3.

I would like to wish my son-in-law Scott Shubert and my brother Tom Johnson very happy birthdays on Feb. 4. Also happy birthday wishes to Scott’s mother, Janie Doyle, on Feb. 5.
