Mansion admission price is up
As of Feb. 1, the admission price for touring the Ross Mansion and Plantation will be raised from $2 to $3 per person. Children under 12 are admitted free.
There is no admission charge for Seaford Historical Society members except for special events such as Victorian Christmas.
The mansion and plantation are open for tours every Saturday and the fourth Sunday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m. For tours at any other time call 628-9500 to make a reservation.

Singles to host dinner, dance
A singles group will hold a Valentine and Mardi Gras dinner dance Saturday, Feb. 12, 5:30 p.m. at the Seaford Golf and Country Club.

Weight-lifting competition set
Seaford's Wal-Mart Supercenter will be the site of a fund-raiser for Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, as strongman Mike Hall presents "Bench Press 2000." Hall, a five-time world powerlifting champion, will host the bench press competition Saturday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m.
Anyone 13 or older is eligible to compete. T-shirts will be given to the first 20 competitors and trophies will be awarded. For more information," call Hall at 732-3030 or 628-3789.

Manor House to host pageant
The Miss Sussex County Scholarship Pageant (an official Miss Delaware preliminary) will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Methodist Manor House Fellowship Hall, Seaford. Interested applicants may call 629-8887.
