Murder play tickets on sale
Possum Point Players will present "A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody" at Delaware Technical and Community College, Georgetown, Jan. 28 and 29. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The production will follow the meal. Tickets are $27 each and include dinner.

Second Street plans play
Second Street Players will present "Dancing in the End Zone" Jan. 28, 29 and 30. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinee is at 3 p.m. All performances are in the Second Street Players' Riverfront Theatre, 2 S. Walnut St., downtown Milford. Seats are reserved and tickets are $8; senior citizens and students pay a discount price of $7 for Sunday matinees. Groups of 10 or more pay a discount price of $7 for any performance for advance reservations. For reservations, call 422-0220.

Dance your blahs away
The Cruzers will provide the music for a dance planned for Saturday, Jan. 29, 8 p.m. to midnight at the Multi-Purpose Community Center in Georgetown, Sand Hill Road and US 9 (1 mile east of the circle.) A cash bar and light snacks will be available. Cost is $5 per person (only those 21 or older are welcome). For details, call 856-5187.

Fund-raiser to pay for sewers
The Ellendale Community Civic Improvement Association will hold a dinner to raise funds for sewer hook-up fees for residents who cannot afford the cost.
The event will be Saturday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. at the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church (located on Old State Road), Ellendale. Jimmy's Grille will cater dinner. Nathan Hill, president of Greenwood Trust Bank, will be the keynote speaker.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under and can be purchased from Harold Truxon, 422-4304. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Center to host socials
The CHEER Community Center will host a wine and cheese social the last Thursday of each month beginning Jan. 27 in the lobby of the new facility at the intersection of US 9 and Sand Hill Road in Georgetown. The public is invited to come between 3 and 5 p.m. For more information, call 854-9500.
Auditions set for 'Mouse Trap'
Second Street Players have scheduled auditions for "The Mouse Trap," the second play of the regular 2000 season. Auditions for the Agatha Christy murder mystery are Monday, Jan. 31, and Tuesday, Feb. 1; both auditions are at 7 p.m. in the players' Riverfront Theatre. Performance dates are March 24, 25, 26 and 31, and April 1 and 2.

Talk to look at beekeeping
A meeting about ways beekeepers protect their bees will be Tuesday, Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m., at the University of Delaware's Research & Education Center on US 9, approximately 6 miles west of Georgetown. For details, call 424-1402.

Second Street to do revue
Second Street Players will present "Closer Than Ever," a musical revue, Feb. 11, 12, and 13. Eddie Cohee is the director, cast members are Andrew Byrd, Becky Chambers Gaffney, Kane Mowrey and Kenney Workman. The show was previously presented as the entertainment for the 1999 Annual Trustees Gala.

Calendar is being planned
The Delaware Calendar of Events, winter-spring 2000 issue, published by the Delaware Tourism Office, highlights nearly 200 events held throughout the state. The calendar is published bi-annually to assist those planning trips to Delaware in getting the most out of their visit.
Guidelines for a free listing in the Summer-Fall 2000 Calendar of events and a listing form are available by calling 302-672-6841. In order to be considered, events must be of interest to Delaware visitors and must be designed to attract and accommodate more than 500 people.
