Commission members are sworn in
Bridgeville town commission reorganized at its first meeting of the new year with new commissioner Earl Greason joining incumbents Charles Singman and Glenn Miles in a swearing in conducted by town clerk Watha Hostetter.
Singman shifted back to police commissioner, a position he occupied earlier. Miles moved from police commissioner to water commissioner. Newcomer Greason took wastewater and Sipple stayed with streets. In addition, Greason will serve with Dalton on the planning commission.
The commissioners re-elected Jack Dalton president. Hostetter will remain treasurer and William Speakman will still be town solicitor. All votes were 4-0; commissioner Margaret Sipple was absent due to illness.
Dalton reported that the town suffered no problems with the start of the new year.
He also reported the the police department responded to threats of vandalism to the town's police cars by parking several of them within the fenced in area of the wastewater plant over Christmas Eve.
Dalton commended Alma Fleetwood for her work with the town's quarterly newsletter initiated last year, saying ads have more than paid for its cost.
