Winter Gala Jan. 27
The Nanticoke Health Services Auxiliary will host its annual winter dance, "Golden Gala," Saturday, Jan. 27, in honor of the auxiliary's 50th anniversary. This year's event will be held at the Seaford Golf and Country Club. A cocktail hour and dinner will be provided along with music and dancing. Entertainment will be by Bruce Willey and Murphy's Law. Tickets are available in the Volunteer Services office at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital by calling Jean Baldwin at 629-6611 ext.2301, Dot Dixon, 629-7838, Barbara Hancock, 629-8288, or Judi Thoroughgood, 934-8215. Cost of tickets is $50 per person with $25 of that price tax deductible. The dance is a major fundraiser for the auxiliary. All proceeds will be included in the auxiliary's annual gift to Nanticoke Health Services.

Keep families safer
In January, the American Red Cross will be offering the following community courses designed to help keep families safer. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling the Red Cross office at 302-656-6620 or 1-800-777-6620. The following courses will be held at St. John's Methodist Church. Saturday, Jan. 13 - Adult CPR, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., cost $25. Saturday, Jan. 13 - Community CPR, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., cost $40. Monday, Jan. 29 - First Aid Basics, from 5-9 p.m., cost $25. St. John's United Methodist Church is located at 300 Pine St., Seaford.
