Preschool has openings
St. John's Preschool, a Christian-based preschool, has openings in the 4- and 5-year-old class. One opening is available for the morning session and several openings are available in the afternoon session. For details, call Connie Halter at 629-2289.

Rock Church relocates
The Rock Church of Seaford has been renamed Rock Church Fellowship and has moved to 538 N. Central Ave. in Laurel (formerly the Wedding Chapel). Services are held at 10:30 Sunday mornings and at 7:30 p.m. for Tuesday night prayer and Wednesday night Bible study. For further information, call 628-0565 or 337-0282.

Scotts to sing at Portsville
Portsville United Methodist Church will present Jeff and Jeanine Scott in concert Sunday, Jan. 14, at 6:30 p.m. The Scotts live in Bridgeville with their two daughters and a son, ages 8, 7 and 1. Jeff Scott has a degree in piano performance from Wake Forest University and teaches piano at their home. He is also worship leader for their church, Family Ministries, Bridgeville. Jeanine Scott is a full-time homemaker. She has a degree in music therapy from Fredonia State University and several years of graduate work in psychology at Salisbury State University. They have been married for 11 years and have performed in area churches for more than 12 years. They have also performed in community plays, for weddings and other special events.

Traditional mass planned
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on Jan. 21. Weight Watchers class set
The Laurel Mt. Pleasant Charge will hold an information and registration Weight Watchers meeting on Jan. 31, 7 p.m., at King's United Methodist Church. Instructor Kathleen Tiderman will be available to answer questions and take registrations. The class will begin (pending sufficient registrants) in February at a time and date to be announced. Bikers plan conference
On Feb. 2 and 3, the Christian Motorcyclists Association will hold its annual Seasons of Refreshing Conference at the Grace of God Fellowship Church in Easton, Md. Bikers are invited to participate in this time of renewal and preparation for the riding season ahead. Sessions, led by the Northeast Regional evangelist Rick Steffy, will begin on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and will continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Boys Scout events planned
The Catholic Committee on Scouting has planned a Cub Scout Day of Fun and Reflection for Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be held at St. Polycarp in Smyrna. Church to host basket bingo
Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Group will sponsor Longaberger basket bingo Saturday, Feb. 17, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish Hall, Seaford. All proceeds will help the youth group to travel to this year's National Catholic Youth Conference in Indiana. Doors open at 6 p.m., and games will start at 7 p.m. Tickets sold in advance are $20; they will also be available at the door for $25. Door prizes will be given throughout the evening.
