Airport meeting Jan. 3
The next meeting of the Sussex County Airport Committee will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Sussex County Administration office, West Complex Building, Route 113, Georgetown, at 10 a.m. Call 855-7770.

New Year's Eve Dinner-Dance
The Seaford Elks Lodge #2458 will be having a New Year's Eve Dinner-Dance on Sunday, Dec. 31. Buffet Dinner catered by Jimmy's Grille, music by "Mountain Blue" band. The affair starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes till 1 a.m. Blackeyed peas, biscuits, donuts and coffee served at midnight. Hats and noisemakers, provided. Advance ticket sales only: $40 per couple. New fitness session starts Jan. 2
Start 2001 off right! A new fitness session starts Jan. 2 and 3. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays meet at 9 a.m. (quality, free child care provided), and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m., at St. John's U.M.C. Fellowship Hall. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Co-ed, non-competitive, stress reducing, high/low aerobic, toning, strengthening, and stretching class. Try a free one! Gift certificates still available for Christmas. Honeycombs to ring in New Year at CHEER
The most versatile party band on the Eastern Shore will be ringing in the New Year at the CHEER Community Center on Sand Hill Road, east of Georgetown, as 2001 makes its appearance on Sunday, Dec. 31. The band's music ranges from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and a little of the 90s. The Honeycombs organized in 1991, under the direction of Honey Voshell who has played with the Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey bands as well as Roy Clark, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a buffet dinner available until 8:30 p.m. Highlighting the menu will be Chesapeake chicken stuffed with crabmeat and sliced top round beef. Dinner is being catered by the Sail Loft Restaurant. Dancing, a balloon drop at midnight, and continental breakfast ends the evening. Cost is $40 single or $75 couple. Table reservations must be made in quantities of eight. Guests must be at least 21 years old. Call 854-9500.

Children's Theater at Del Tech, Jan. 25-26 & 29, April 3-5.
Theater IV, a nationally known touring ensemble from Richmond, Va., will once again be delighting area school children with musical adaptations of entertaining and educational stories. Formerly sponsored by the Sussex Arts Council, the program has been taken over by Possum Point Players. Possum's will continue to use the theater at Delaware Technical & Community College, Georgetown in order to accommodate the 3,000 local school children who have attended each year. This year's season consists of three shows. "The Sword And The Stone," which was performed in November; "A Woman Called Truth," will be performed Jan. 26, 26 and 29; and "The Velveteen Rabbit" which will be performed on April 3-5. Tickets are $5 a seat. These shows fill up quickly and teachers should call and reserve space as soon as possible. For details call 856-4560.
