Breakfast Buffet
All-you-can-eat Sunday breakfast buffet will be served by the Galestown Ruritan Club on Jan. 25, from 7-10 a.m. at the Galestown (Md.) Community Hall. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 children ages 6-12.

New Year’s Party
Sussex County Senior Services, Inc./CHEER New Year’s Celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 10 a. m. to 2 p.m. at the CHEER Community Center located on the corner of Rt. 9 and Sand Hill Road in Georgetown. A meal will be served at noon. Sky Brady will be entertaining. Suggested donations for the meal are $4 for those age 60 and older or $5 for those under age 60. Reservations are necessary by calling April Willey at 856-5187.

Railroad Open House
The Delmarva Model Railroad Club will have its 18th annual holiday open house on Jan. 10-11 and Jan. 17-18. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. There is no admission charge. The Delmarva Model Railroad Club is located at 103 E. State St., Camelot Hall Second Floor, in Delmar, Del. This is one of the largest permanent model railroad displays on the Delmarva Peninsula with more than 5,000-square-feet of operating model railroads in N, HO, O (scale), O (hi-rail) and Standard Gauges plus N-trak, module layouts. 4-H Leader Forum on Jan. 10
The Delaware State 4-H Leader Forum will take place on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Delaware Technical and Community College, Dover, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The registration is $10, which includes three workshops, a speaker, and lunch. Workshop topics include “Take a Journey in the 4-H Theatre Arts Curriculum,” “4-H Cloverbud Project,” “Explore the World of Horticulture with Your 4-H’ers,” “How to be the Most Successful Project Leader You Can Be,” and “4-H Money Skills.” A complete list, an agenda, and a registration form can be found on the internet at ag.udel.edu/4h/. The forum is open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about the 4-H program or becoming a 4-H adult volunteer. Ham/Turkey Shoot
Ellendale Ruritan will hold their Ham/Turkey Shoot at the Ellendale V.F.W., Road 607 (1/2 mile south of Rt. 113 and 16 intersection), at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 24. Refreshments will be available for sale. For possible cancellation call 422-2948.

Grange Meeting Jan. 8
The Sussex County Pomona Grange 3 will be meeting on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Reliance Grange at 6:30 p.m. with a covered dish dinner and meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Sussex Democrats preparing party cookbook
The Sussex Democrats are looking for recipes and snippets of Democratic lore and legend for an upcoming cookbook, “You’re Cooking with the Democratic Party.” The book will debut in September at a pre-election celebration where Democratic officials past and present and candidates will serve tastes of their specialties.
